All my life I have been a dreamer. I know we have a greater purpose and are on this earth at this amazing time in history to dream a new world. To be part of the solution of what is possible. To release the delusions and illusions that we have of others running the show.
There have been moments I have felt like giving up on my dreams and visions. I somehow seemed to be going along fine and then got stuck in the mind game. The need to be seen as intelligent, successful, and loved. Many times those needs blindsided me, as I entered the realm of the mind.
It wasn’t until I was at a crisis point in my life that I found dreaming. I hadn’t remembered my dreams for years. The last one was one with big white birds dying in cages without food or water. Little did I know then that they were parts of my soul, desperately wanting to be reclaimed.
I learned how to interpret my dreams, what my symbols meant to me, and how to journal them.
Yet, something was missing. There was a deep sacred, spiritual piece that I craved.
In 2006, I had a dream that rocked my core. I wake up coughing uncontrollably, gasping for breath, shaking uncontrollably, crying hysterically. It won’t stop. Rain is pouring through the window above my bed, lightning is flashing outside and the thunder roars. I’m wet, cold and shaken. I immediately write down the dream. More pours out of my pen, and I’m shocked with the last words – when the Dreamwalker comes. Sometimes it takes a big dream to “wake” us up.
When I shared the dream of The Awakened Dreamwalker, people tried to explain it from a symbolic level, and I knew it was deeper than that. I knew it deep within my bones, and in my soul. I needed desperately to find that answer.
I took a comprehensive shamanic training program that helped me see these worlds. I saw results with the people with whom I was working.
Yet, something was missing. The Dreamwalker was still begging to be heard. It would take me 9 years to be ready. I know it would have been quicker if I would have disengaged my mind, followed my heart, and listened from my soul. In fact, hindsight being 20/20, I know it would have been much easier and more joy filled and light.
My answer would come through Active Dreaming (Shamanic Dreaming), a way of dreaming pioneered by internationally renowned dream shaman, Robert Moss.
I have shared on this blog the crazy circumstances that finally landed me where I would finally find my answers.
As I have dedicated myself to becoming a Teacher of Active Dreaming, my eyes opened to a powerful reality. Everything began to click and make sense. I had confidence, felt lighter, saw more possibility, and could teach others to find “their” own answers from a deep soul place of resonance. It surpassed what I had learned in my previous shamanic training.
Active dreaming is the ability to be fully conscious that you are dreaming both night and day. Yes, it teaches people how to understand their night time dreams. To help them release old stories, challenges, pain. To see new possibilities. To see health issues, ways to repair relationships, possibilities to re-invent something in life or business.
It goes even deeper than that. It shows us how to re-enter dreams for new outcomes. To see where we have bought into the illusions of our day to day reality and learn to dream actively and consciously while awake. It helps us steer away from dead end paths, and create our amazing reality both day and night.
Active dreaming is just that. It’s active. It’s not a passive activity where we sit and analyze. After all, that’s the realm of the mind, and not the vast wisdom of the soul. We can recover lost soul pieces of ourselves that have left us lethargic, depressed, or just not quite living. We have the power to craft a new narrative for our life, and thus the generations that go after us. We tap into deep ancestral wisdom, and get to actively work with it – seeing the gifts, instead of re-enacting the pain. We can connect to other times and places for healing. We get to work with a powerful spiritual community who helps us to be the best version of ourselves possible. We no longer go down the roads of pushing and blindly accepting other people’s agendas for us. Now, we have a much more empowered way of listening. One that is deeply personal, transformational and life changing.
As with anything worth while, and so transformative, it takes practice. It’s something that we can use every day, and it magnifies and expands to great heights when used in community. We were born to share our heart wisdom with others and receive that wisdom as well.
Nine years ago in October, I made a decision to pursue the message of The Awakened Dreamwalker and find a way to incorporate it into my business to help others. She taught me so much. She showed me who I am. She taught me to be an Awakened Dreamwalker. One who walks both worlds in harmony. The spiritual and the practical.
