Traditionally September is a month of letting go and claiming.  It’s that new feeling of back to school, and new pens, and supplies.  It’s when we see things that no longer work, and decide to do something different.  The challenge is sometimes we don’t know when to let go.  For many the reason is there is a feeling that they will not have the freedom to be themselves.  That somehow they will be bogged down with new ways of being that don’t honor who they are.  And when that thinking happens, September can be a difficult and slow month for sure.

Freedom comes from discipline to something that calls to your soul.   Something that will make you a better person, and which will help your business grow so you can serve more people.   I remember believing that if I had a schedule, and certain tasks, that I would have less freedom…..and it kept me broke.  And with that, I was always scraping and having less freedom to be truly me and do my best work.

Here are some suggestions for this month:

What have you known for the last couple of months that needs to change?  It can be in the form of structure, relationships, time, money, spirituality, health, and the list goes on.

1)  What is your morning routine?  Do you give yourself time in the morning to do some type of meditation, writing, and self reflection?  You need to charge your batteries in the morning for focus, and reflection is one way to do that.  Are you supplying your body with enough nutrition and water before you start the day?  What you say to your body is what you say to the world.  If you don’t take care of yourself, you are sharing that message with the world.

2)  How do you manage time?  Doing things in short chunks is the most effective.  Also, having a calendar with specific times of the day to get things done.  Leaving social media to those break times once your big chunks are accomplished for the day.  Setting aside certain days only for clients, so that the other days can be used in other ways.

3)  What does your environment say about you?  Is your house disorganized, or your bills unpaid?  Do you feel like you are alive in the space you have created.  Sometimes a little bit of an overhaul in your surroundings will perk everything up.  Get rid of old contacts.  Clean out the email box.  Make good on all the pending things you were planning on doing this year.  Do them, or delete them.

4)  How are you taking care of your body and your spirit?  For many of you in the spiritual and wellness fields, you will need to have regular times monthly to receive sessions from trusted practitioners.  This can take the form of chiropractic, massage, acupuncture, energy medicine, breathwork, meditation, shamanic clearing and the list goes on.   You need the support of trained professionals to help you see that which you do not so that you can truly let go and continue to step into your brilliance.

5)  Are you listening to the advice you are being given or pushing it away with few results?  If you have hired people to help you with certain areas, make sure that you are following through on their advice.   Get clear on what you are being asked to do, and push through any resistance with clear communication.  Many times you are being asked to work a new muscle that seems a bit foreign, and it is about knowing that you will continue to be you, and actually a greater version of who you are.

6)  Are you enjoying yourself?  This has been the biggie I have seen lately.  Have you done a lot of work, and still feel you cannot enjoy because others are in pain?  You are meant to have your best life, and if you are constantly creating that, then it is time to enjoy what you have created.   You will be of more service this way.

Have fun letting go and claiming something new.  This truly is a pivotal time right now and if done with gusto will reap many rewards.
