I am sure that many of you have been told at one time or another that you are a leader. And for many, that is scary. It brings up the idea of standing in front of huge crowds speaking your message. For some of you, that is the case, and for others your leadership will take another form.

The breakdown of the word leader is path finder. It is the person that has found a unique path and is excited to show others an easier way. As business owners (and those who are going in that direction), you do have a unique vision and have told many people about it. It could be in the form of the spiritual work you do, saving the environment, eating healthy, and the list goes on. People who lead, share what they have to say and those who are ready to go down that path will follow.

It seems simple, right? So, how do you get more people to follow your lead so you can get your message out there in a powerful way? There are a few key components needed.

One: Make a commitment to continue on this path showing people another way. That means when the path gets a little bumpy, you either find new ways of going forward, and/or get guidance for an easier way. If you are not committed and focused, the path washes away.

Two: Work on your message. This is the key piece that I see missing with most mission driven entrepreneurs. They are passionate and speak from that passion, but it doesn’t equate to profits in the material world. You need to speak the message in a way that everyone understands, and will immediately say, “I need this NOW”.

Three: Charge what your services are worth. I see countless people not charging their worth. And you may be one of them. So many people discount all the studying they have done, the classes they have taken, and the personal development they have undergone to make them excellent at what they do. When you don’t charge for your services, you don’t have the power to get your message out in an empowered way. Many come from a wounded place and need to work on their money story here.

Four: Take YOUR path. I see other people who don’t fully step into their brilliance, and do things how others have done it. They water down their message, or they take the path more traveled and say what they think they are needing to say to appeal to a bigger audience.

Five: Remember that there are a lot of people looking for different paths, and not all of them will pick yours. For this reason, you need to define what your target audience is. A huge mistake I see is that entrepreneurs are marketing to anyone that can and will pay for what they have to offer. This doesn’t serve the client nor the person offering the service.

Six: Make sure you are a great role model for those following you. If you are challenged by getting your business and marketing message out in the world, then hire a great mentor/coach that can get you to where you want to go. If you are teaching people about wellness, make sure that you are taking care of your body and receiving the care that you need. The key here is to invest with people that you look up to and are where you want to be. A common mistake I see is people who are doing trades with others that are in the same challenging situation. It doesn’t get you far.

If you have been told you are a leader in whatever field you are in, it’s time to step up. There are many who are lost out there desperately looking for you. And you will need to make that commitment and get your message out in a way that they can hear you!

I know the power of all 6 of these steps. I could not write about them if I had not done each and every one of them. I used to be the poster child of the challenges of each one, and one day decided I was done. Once I applied all six steps, my reach to people who have been looking for my services went nationally and my income increased 400% in a year.

Now, it’s your time!
