What Ancient Wisdom Taught Me About Entrepreneurship
Have you ever felt the weight of change pulling you in a direction you’re not quite ready to go? For years, I resisted that pull, until a single moment shattered my life as I knew it, and I was forced to confront a truth as ancient as time itself: to truly evolve, we must let go of who we were, and embrace who we are meant to become.
Life is cyclical and ever-changing. We see it in nature—the trees shedding their leaves, the rivers altering their courses. We accept these transformations as natural.
Yet, as humans, when we feel the call to change, we tend to react in one of two ways: we either try to force the change, attempting to control every aspect, or we wait for the “right” moment, which rarely arrives. In doing so, we fall out of sync with the dynamic flow of life.
Twenty-four years ago, I was in the “wait and see” camp. Then, a car accident altered my path, leading me to ancient wisdom teachings for healing, which ultimately guided me to shamanism—a journey of bringing oneself into balance.
During my shamanic training, I experienced four transformative phases:
- Releasing Old Stories and Beliefs: Letting go of limiting narratives and outdated paradigms.
- Facing Fears and Stepping Into True Power: Confronting fears and embracing our authentic selves.
- Inviting Joy and Recreating Life: Cultivating a life filled with passion, purpose, and joy.
- Flowing with Divine Connection: Living in alignment with intuition and higher guidance.
Over those two years, my life transformed in the most magnificent ways—relationships, home, business, purpose, and so much more.
As I began working with entrepreneurs and professionals, I noticed these same phases playing out in both their business ventures and personal lives.
Here’s what I observed:
People often came to me feeling stuck, stalled, or plateaued. They were tirelessly hustling to manifest their business vision, often at the expense of their family, relationships, and mental or physical health.
The root issue? They hadn’t built the energetic foundation necessary to support their vision. They weren’t aligned—body, mind, soul, and spirit.
Drawing from the wisdom teachings, I adapted these principles to guide entrepreneurs through their journey:
- Release the Old Paradigm: We cannot create from outdated frameworks. Begin by releasing limiting beliefs about worth and societal expectations. Cultivate new habits, behaviors, and organizational methods. Prioritize self-care. This creates the space and foundation for your vision.
- Harness the Power of Mind and Emotions: Understand the power of your mind and emotions. Work on mindset and emotional resilience. Face fears head-on. Instead of pushing through obstacles with force or anger, tap into your greatest gifts and talents, which are often overlooked in the rush to succeed.
- Create a New Story: Let go of old identities and embrace new ones that honor your deepest desires. This is the space of passion, purpose, sweetness, and joy—where you connect with your soul’s deeper knowing.
- Flow with Intuition: Align with your intuition and higher power. Trust the invisible while creating the tangible. When fully anchored in your purpose, everything flows effortlessly.
Growth is a continuous journey. With each new vision, we are invited to evolve into the person our vision requires. To ensure these changes are sustainable, it’s crucial not to skip any steps.
Having a guide to navigate the unseen aspects of your journey can make all the difference. After all, we’re human.
As you reflect on these stages of growth, where do you find yourself? What is one thing you can do now to foster more growth in your life?
I would love to hear your thoughts.
